Central bank department sees January inflation at 8.7–8.9
MOSCOW, Feb 2 (PRIME) -- Annual inflation accelerated to 8.7–8.9% in January from 8.4% in December, the forecast department of the central bank said on Wednesday.
"Taking into account preliminary figures, January’s price increase will most probably be close to 1% on the month without seasonal adjustment (NSA, with a technical revision of the method of the Federal State Statistics Service),” the department said.
“This corresponds to an 8.7–8.9% annual inflation acceleration in January."
The opinion of the forecast department may differ from the central bank's official position.
